I am amazed! In all the years I followed the issues with servo ABS brakes on the forums, including how to remove the ABS/servo pump (a complicated job to do correctly), I never once saw mention of a non-ABS retrofit kit for the brick K12s. I just talked to Gene and he told me the “kit” consists of 2 brake lines that by-pass the ABS system. He’s…[Read more]

Bill, thanks for the great reports from the Isle of Man TT. They make me feel like I am there myself, taking in the sights and sounds, the excitement and suspense.
We’re looking forward to your in-person report at our July club meeting. Safe travels!

Confirmation overnight that the roads would be closed at 10am followed by a 2 lap Supersport race at 10:45 to be followed by a 2 lap sidecar race at 12 and the main event of the week, the Senior TT at 2:15.
Once more Andrew and I chose to view the racing at Ballacrane as it was really close to the riders, offered food…[Read more]
June 9 – from Bill Penney
No racing today due to clouds over the mountain, initially, followed by typical island drizzle which guaranteed cancellation.

So had a lazy day during which our hostess took us for tour around some less touristy parts of the island one of which was a prehistoric gravesite at the southern most part of the island.…[Read more]
June 8 – from Bill Penney

Today started with the results of heavy overnight rain, wet roads and advice that the first race of today, the Supertwins, would be delayed. You should understand that the whole circuit is made up of public roads so first a road closure time must be announced following which a start time for the race can be announced…[Read more]
Club member Bill Penney is on the Isle of Man this week taking in the legendary Isle of Man TT races. Fortunately for us he is sending periodic updates of the best places to watch the race, the unbelievable riding he is seeing within a few yards of the course, race results, and anything else of interest. I’ll be posting Bill’s reports as I receive…[Read more]

Our first user group on February 26 was a success – we had 9 participants and I think it’s fair to say we all learned something. Our next meeting will be Saturday, March 19, 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the Parma-Snow Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library.
We’re going to start out this meeting with Road Captain Duncan Cooper walking us through the…[Read more]
The GPS/Basecamp User Group is coming up this Saturday, 10 AM to noon, at the Parma-Snow Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library. If you intend to create your own route in Basecamp, and you have not already done so, now would be a good time to work your way through the New England Riders Tutorial (see top post). It’s probably not realistic to learn…[Read more]
Eric, your Garmin Nav IV should work just fine if you want to use it. The Nav VI is the most recent BMW badged model — it has been known to have problems with the screen but Garmin is good about replacing it. I’m not familiar with the regular Garmin models but I think there is a relatively recent one. Others may chime in on this.
I have a mount…[Read more]
In-person GPS/Basecamp User Group meetings are back! Our first meeting, Saturday February 26 at 10 AM, will help participants create their own route in Basecamp and load it into their GPS.
Why bother learning Basecamp?
I use Basecamp for several reasons. One, it helps me create interesting routes to my destinations. It’s easier to just t…[Read more]

The weather was perfect Friday, a little rainy and cool on Saturday, and the same on Sunday, but the riding was great. In my group Ohio 255 seemed to be the consensus winner, with West Virginia 36 a close second. Dinner…[Read more]
