So what is the antidote for election-result stress?
ROAD TRIP ! Of Course !
As part of a trip to Allentown to pick up Lon’s newish G650GS, the mountains of South Central PA beckoned our attention.
Fifteen miles into the ride we came across a substantial water crossing ranging for 2 inches to 1 foot deep.
Lon went straight across leaving a giant wake and rooster tail as found the deepest section. Very ballsy for fifteen minutes of experience on the bike! On the back side he drained his boots…Since the route was a loop we knew we wouldn’t have to cross the stream on our return.

The area is near perfect for both on and off-road touring, possessing motorcycling Holy Trinity:
-a cheap hotel (think Rosebud Motel if you’re a Schitt’s Creek fan)
-good food within walking distance
-both curvy and gravel roads galore.
There is plenty of history in the area from both the Civil War and the French and Indian war, with many historical markers to be read.
This ride was the perfect way to escape the hysteria of the election. It’s only a 4 hour ride from CLE, and should be considered for a club weekend.
