ParticipantKickstands up at 10:00 departing Bob Evans Brunswick for a 76-mile ride to Danville, Ohio and the family run Hangout restaurant. Rest stop is approximately 11:30 at Bell stores Wooster, 1337 Blachleyville road. Major highways are avoided as much as possible and we’ll have fun with some nice twisties as we get further south of Medina.
For those with a sweet tooth, Whits Frozen Custard is less than a quarter mile further down the road. Yum.
GPS route and track files are found on the GPS download page. (BE Buns to Hangout, Danville, OH 76 mi) and (BE Bruns trak to Hangout Danville, OH 76 mi). PLEASE NOTE: THESE FILES WERE CHANGED ON AUG 24 TO REFLECT CHANGES TO THE ROUTE TO ELIMINATE SEVERAL MILES OF GRAVEL ROAD. MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE VERSION WITH 76 MI SUFFIX; (and delete the 81 mi version if you’ve already downloaded that version. I think 5 of you did)
Addendum: After Lunch in Danville, riders are invited to ride at Mark Walkers farm nearby. See his invitation below.
Saturday, September 2, 2023 to Danville, Ohio.
After lunch you are invited to experience some leisurely off road riding at my farm.We have wide grass trails that are as smooth as your lawn. There are also trails through the woods along with some technical sections for the more daring.Don’t worry about your skill level. We have something for everyone. Come for a few laps or stay the entire day.The farm is about 12 minutes from Danville.Location: 18455 Sapps Run Road, Howard, Ohio 43028.Mark Walker, 440-725-0156, twalker300@icloud.com Directions from Danville:-after leaving The Hangout, go north on S. Market Street to the BP Station.– take a left at the BP Station. This is W. Main Street/Danville Amity Road.-go 1.6 miles and then take a right onto Sapps Run Road.– Sapps Run Road is curvy and it is paved. Watch out for loose gravel and Amish. I’m down the road approximately 4.5 miles.**Sapps Run Road stops when it runs into Route 3. If you do get to Route 3 you went 0.2 miles too far.ALTERNATIVE ROUTE-take a left at BP Station onto Danville/Amity Road until you reach Route 3 North in Amity. Amity is 6.5 miles from Danville.– go 2.6 miles north on Route 3.– turn right onto Sapps Run Road. We are the second farm on the right, (Hill View Farm). Use second drive, not the blacktopped house driveway. Stop in the barn for a farm map.***********Going home you can take Route 3 North. We are ten miles south of Loudonville. We have no mud or water on any of the trails. You will leave with a clean bike.Hope to see you. Mark Walker -
