For those who attended one of the Winter membership meetings, you will remember that I said I would release the Summer schedule at the April 6th meeting. An overnight ride is in-the-works now which, if announced in April, would be really short-fused for many of us whose calendar is already beginning to fill-up. To enable as much participation as possible I’m putting out the basic plan for an overnighter departing May 6th and returning on the 7th. The Allegheny National Forest is a (relatively) close destination with abundant great roads, sight seeing and overnight accommodations. This ride will be led by Bill Moore (williamjmoore33@gmail.com) and will be a road only ride. The .gpx track can be found on the “gps files” page of the BMWMOC website and is meant to be a first draft amendable by the consensus of those who will participate. It is listed as “Allegheny Nat’l Forest Ride day 1 and 2, and can be downloaded directly into your gps, or converted into a “Route” if you like.
Bill is working the lodging issue now and requests that those who are interested get in touch with him via email such that he can get a headcount.
Out-and-in overnighters are a new concept to Club rides and hopefully future trips can explore areas unreachable by our normal “Saturday only” format.
Thanks for reading this. Hope you can attend!
