The only time I rode in a hare scramble, it was in West Virginia. We rode all night in Terp Cobb’s van. It was a two man race with my friend Jon Rembisz on a Penton. One of the most exhausting things I’ve ever done. My 1957 BMW R 50 was originally bought at Penton’s. I would see John every year when they had the motorcycle show in Cleveland. At Amherst Meadow Larks he would ride a sidecar rig in Poker runs. A lot of memories I had not reflected on in years. There was so much about him that I learned from his obituary. RIP John Penton
