Hello, this is Kristin McEntyre. I am Bill’s niece. It is with deep sadness and sorrow that I share Bill passed away on October 5, 2021 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was loved a great deal and will most certainly be missed!
William (Bill) Clifford Stinson born July 5, 1945 in Muskegon, MI passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on October 5, 2021 in Georgetown, Texas. Bill served in the Army as a First Lieutenant in the Army Chemical Corps from June 1967 to August 1972. He served a combat tour in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Army, he went on to graduate from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After retiring from the Cleveland Clinic as a microbiologist, he moved to Georgetown Texas to be with his family.
Flying was one of his favorite past times and he obtained his pilot’s license in 1991 after building his own plane. Additionally, he loved riding motorcycles and being a member of the BMW Motorcycle Owners Club of Cleveland. After having numerous cats throughout his life, Bill met and fell in love with Layla; a German Shepard mix whom he adopted and spoiled beyond means.
He was preceded in death by his parents Susan Lorane Kadelsik and Clifford Ward Stinson, and his sister, Sandra Sue Johnson. He is survived by his niece Kristin (George) McEntyre and his nephew, Eric Johnson.
A very special thanks goes to Dr. Courtney Yau and the entire staff at Texas Oncology, all the nurses and healthcare aides at The Weslayan and Weslayan Hospice, especially Bill’s very special nurse Amy and Chaplain Paulette. Furthermore, the family wishes to thank all his extended family at Country Oasis RV Park. In lieu of flowers, Bill would want donations made to Cleveland Animal Protective League.
