REMINDER: Marietta Weekend Ride, September 30 – October 2
If you are planning to participate in the Marietta Weekend you should make your room reservation soon. Microtel still has rooms available at $85 for a double – call 740-373-7373 and tell them you are with the Cleveland BMW Club. Any rooms not reserved by August 30 will be released.
I’ve changed the route to Marietta on September 30 to State Route 555, the legendary Tripple Nickel. We’ll ride a mix of freeway and secondary roads down to Zanesville for lunch at the Muddy Miser on the river – another of our favorite spots. Then we’ll head south just a few miles to get on 555 and ride it all the way down to the Ohio River southwest of Marietta. Many of you have ridden the Triple Nickel and know it’s always worth another ride. For first timers, you’ll love the ceaseless ups and downs and curves through this largely rural part of the state.
On Saturday we’ll ride some great West Virginia roads – that means small, curvy, hilly, occasional rough sections, and maybe some detours, but all paved. You are also free to ride your own ride on Saturday – whatever you wish.
I’ll post GPS routes the week before the ride.
